Adrian Wooster

"<yoastmark

Adrian is a broadband strategist with over 20 years experience with a special focus on full-fibre and more widely Next Generation Access (NGA) broadband strategy. In the long distant passed he had a background in network architecture & strategy, and loves nothing better than formulating or adapting strategy to differentiate and be ahead of the curve.

Having worked with a range of clients in public, private and community sectors including alternative operators, local and national governments, Adrian is currently the Chief Innovation Officer at DKT, a Danish technology company focussed on the link between a fibre operator’s network and that of the customers home. Prior to that he headed up the Strategy function within Gigaclear Networks, the UK’s largest rural broadband specialist.

His specialism is in how full-fibre markets evolve and how operators position themselves within their domestic markets, considering factors like:

    • Whether open access is the right approach for a given market strategy
    • Geographic and demographic approaches to optimising market positioning and network build targeting
    • How product strategy can support wholesale and retail coexistence, and
    • The support role Government policy and regulation can play.

There are few universal rights and wrongs – each operator needs to carve their own path – that’s my specialism.

Theo Wooster

Adrian has been joined by his son, Theo Wooster. Theo is currently studying towards a Master’s degree at Kings College, London, after completing his Bachelor’s degree at Birmingham University in Economics with International Relations. Theo Wooster

Theo will be writing a series of thought pieces here. His aim will be to provide some background to the tech sector and the development of the broadband economy.

He is especially interested in how economies transition during periods of significant change. For example, the speed of impact AI is having and how we as a society prepare.
